Support

Help with Kinwhistle, the iPhone app for a family's memories.

Write to us

support@kinwhistle.com

Tell us which iPhone and which version of iOS you use, and what you were doing when it happened. Please do not send us the memories themselves.

Never send an unused invitation to us, or to anyone it is not for. Whoever has one can join your family and read everything it has told.

Answers

How do I invite someone?

In Settings, open Family members and invitations. An invitation lets one person in and is valid for a week, so send it only to the person you made it for.

How do I choose whether the app uses AI?

In Settings, open AI. Turning it off stops what your phone sends from then on. It does not undo what was already sent.

How do I make the text bigger?

In Settings, turn on Larger text. It applies to Kinwhistle only, and it also makes the app simpler. If you have already made text larger for the whole iPhone, that size stays.

I deleted a memory by mistake

Whoever told it can bring it back for 30 days. Open the card it was on and tap Bring back.

How do I take the archive with me?

In Settings, choose Export the archive. It makes one file with the memories as a page anyone can read, the original recordings and the photographs.

How do I leave the family, or start again?

In Settings, Leave the family means you no longer see the family's new memories or tell new ones. Clear it and start again takes you out of the family and also empties the phone. Either way, what you told stays with the family, unless you delete your account first (see below).

How do I cancel a subscription?

Subscriptions are bought and managed through Apple. On the iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.

How do I have my data erased?

While your phone is in a family, choose Delete my account and data in Settings. It deletes at once from our server the memories you told into your own phone, your questions, and the hearts and thank-yous you gave, and it asks first whether the photographs you uploaded stay with the family. Then it empties the phone. Memories told into other members' phones stay with the family. If you have already left the family or emptied the phone, write to us at the address above, and we answer within one month. The privacy policy says exactly what goes, what stays and where.
